Lylajean

Lylajean is an independent musical artist from Chicago, Illinois, now based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, known for her dream-inspired pop music and experimental style. Lyla (full first name Lylajean—one word!) started releasing self-produced albums in 2019 at age 17. Her music explores a variety of genres, ranging from Kate Bush and Björk-influenced art pop, to Nick Drake-inspired folk. Many of Lylajean's songs and albums are lyrically and musically inspired by dreams, including the sprawling art pop record Sleep Through the Quiet Lust (2022). Starting in 2023, Lylajean began playing her music as a full rock band, playing with producer Anthan and guitarist Ryan in its first incarnation and later with members Val, Jonathan, and Vanessa. In 2026, having recently moved to Milwaukee to study music therapy, Lylajean became the new lead singer for local indie rock band A Picture of Silence and partnered with members Randy, Ti, and Scott as her new band.
